NCS⁴ National Professional Sports and Entertainment Safety and Security Forum Set for February 20-21


The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host the 2024 National Professional Sports and Entertainment Safety and Security Forum on Feb. 20-21 at the University of Notre Dame.

Join your peers to address the key safety and security challenges facing the professional sports and entertainment industry and to share best practices for continuous improvement.

The threat environment surrounding high-profile sport and entertainment events is continually evolving. Discussing current issues and exploring solutions in a forum environment will help safety and security managers, operations managers, and local and state law enforcement enhance safety and security plans and operations.

The NCS⁴ Publishes Industry Research Report on Spectator Perceptions of Safety and Security Practices, Technologies, Threats, and Game-Day Experiences


The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) publishes results from their Spectator Sports Safety and Security Survey in an Industry Research Report.

The study aimed to gauge sport spectators’ perceptions of safety and security at live events, awareness and support of policies and procedures, and willingness to embrace new measures and technological solutions to enhance their safety and game-day experience. Understanding spectators’ perceptions of safety and security practices and concerns while attending events can help venue and event directors plan accordingly to ensure the optimal spectator experience.

NVIDIA Receives Technology Alliance Member of the Year at 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference


NVIDIA will be recognized for its leadership on the NCS4’s Sports and Entertainment Technology Alliance as part of the 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition on June 27-29 in San Antonio. The event is presented annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The Technology Alliance Member of the Year Award recognizes a Sports and Entertainment Technology Alliance member who has demonstrated a high level of commitment to research and training addressing industry needs in sports safety and security.

The Technology Alliance is a consortium of individuals and organizations committed to spectator safety and security excellence through innovation. Members work alongside practitioners and the NCS4 to explore how people, processes, and technologies can best contribute to safety and security challenges in a meaningful way. The 2023 Sports and Entertainment Technology Alliance members include Axis Communications, Esri, Microsoft, NVIDIA, S2 Global, and Xtract One Technologies.

Nine Individuals to be Honored as Emerging Industry Leaders at 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition


A total of nine professionals will be recognized for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues during the 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition on June 27-29 in San Antonio. The event is presented annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The Emerging Industry Leader Award recognizes a young professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. In addition to the enhanced safety and security of their venue/event, the recipient’s contributions have set an example for others to follow. The award is sponsored by Momentus Technologies, which provides venue and event management software for venues of all kinds and events of all types.

Sports Facilities to Receive Recognition During 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference


A total of five sports facilities will be recognized for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues as part of the 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition on June 27-29 in San Antonio. The event is presented annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The Facility of Merit Award recognizes a sports facility that has demonstrated an innovative approach to enhancing safety and security beyond its normal operations or addressed a significant safety/security concern.

Eight Individuals to Receive Professional of the Year Award at 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition


A total of eight professionals will be recognized for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues during the 2023 National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition on June 27-29 in San Antonio. The event is presented annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The Professional of the Year Award recognizes a member of management in the field who has, over the past year, demonstrated outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. In addition to the enhanced safety of their venue/event, the recipient's contributions have set an example for others to follow. The award is sponsored by Prevent Advisors, a full-service security consulting company with extensive knowledge, expertise, and understanding of the operational aspects of sports and entertainment facilities and venues. They are the first and only company to receive SAFETY Act Designation for a Red Team Assessment Service.
